This foundational course introduces the participant to a detailed overview on building organizational capability in developing and engineering products, delivering and managing services, selecting and managing suppliers, managing data, managing people, and managing safety and security activities of the CMMI Performance Solutions ecosystem (CMMI V3).
In this course, students have access to the current online version of the CMMI V3 Model. They actively participate in class discussions and exercises to build a common understanding of how to improve business performance using CMMI Practice Areas across its eight domains.

- Beginning their CMMI career journey as a CMMI Appraisal Team Member for any of the CMMI domains.
This learner objective driven course will enable participants to:
- Connect the CMMI model with business value.
- Describe the components of CMMI – including all domains: Data, Development, People, Safety, Security, Suppliers and Virtual.
- Use the CMMI model as a tool for improving performance.
- Use the various CMMI domains effectively to assess, improve and sustain process capability in different organizational contexts.
- Certificate of Completion.
- One exam credit for the to take the Certified Practitioner Exam.
- Upon achieving the Certified Practitioner Certification, meet a pre-requisite for serving on a CMMI appraisal team appraising for any of the CMMI Domains.
- Meet pre-requisite for the High Maturity Concepts Course.
- Meet a pre-requisite for advanced CMMI training courses.
- Participants to be visible (on webcam) and actively participate (using microphone) for the entire duration of the training. Participants to carry government issued ID with photo & name.
- Setup Call shall be scheduled with all participants together to determine infrastructure feasibility & set context for the Virtual Training. Participants unable to address infrastructure issues shall not be permitted to attend training.
- Duration of Virtual Delivery training is indicative and will be adjusted to suit time zones of Instructor and Participants in the training and buffer time.
